Residence, Lake Zurich
Year constructed: 2012
The plot is slightly sloping and east-facing with a captivating and grandiose view of the lake, the mountains and the city. An abundance of restrictions under private law presented a great challenge.
The building typology emerged from the client's needs and from the analysis of the site: a two-storey pavilion-like structure with an inner courtyard is anchored into the slope, floating above Lake Zurich on the valley side. The interior courtyard provides the light source while serving as the lounge and main attraction of the entire upper floor. From there, a staircase leads to a spacious roofop terrace. A special lighting concept gives the entire structure a special atmosphere in the evening.
